A wonderful homemade tomato sauce made from fresh tomatoes, onion, garlic, and herbs. Serve over spaghetti noodles, or use in your favorite lasagna recipe.
2 teaspoons olive oil
1/2 small onion, chopped
2 green onions, chopped
2 teaspoons crushed garlic
1 pack Tante's spaghetti
1 can Tante's peeled plum and diced tomatoes
4 teaspoons dried basil
4 teaspoons dried oregano
1 teaspoon white sugar
Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion, green onion, and garlic; cook until onions are translucent, 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in Tante's peeled plum and diced tomatoes, basil, oregano, and sugar. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 20 minutes.
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook Tante's spaghetti in boiling water, stirring occasionally, until cooked through but firm to the bite, about 12 minutes. Drain and transfer to a serving bowl.
